Well we are on the final countdown...FINALLY! We are in single digit days now before Jason comes home!! Brice is enjoying his time in Ohio, Kaylie is getting things settled in her new house and we are sooooo ready to have things return to normal around here! It is going to be great to have everyone back and to add Kyle and Kaylie into our already crazy lives! Brice is going to start football as soon as he gets back and Kenzie is starting gymnastics. Lots of new adventures, hope it all turns out well! Thank you all so much for your prayers and support over the last year, Lord knows it has been a very long year with lots of bumpy rides but it is ALMOST OVER! Did I mention it is ALMOST OVER! haha Please continue to pray for us as we transition back into living life with daddy and husband around. It will be an adjustment once again, but we are getting pretty good at it! Let's hope this one is just as successful! Love to all of you!

Memorial Day Weekend & Austin

The weekend was long and flew by quickly all at the same time. I babysat Friday night for a little boy who is 10, so not a big deal. We took him to CiCi's for the first time and he loved it. Then they played in the water most of the day Saturday. My water bill is going to break me! Sunday I got 2 more kids early in the morning and had them till Monday morning. We went to a birthday cookout for one of my friends and they played hard and wore themselves out, so bedtime was pretty easy cuz they all crashed! Monday, an old friend of ours, George Turner, and his buddy came around noon and cooked us an amazing dinner using a smoker. It took a long time, but boy was it good. His buddy's wife came and Turner's friend Tara came and her little boy. All in all, it was a good relaxing day, but we sure did miss Jason. I am so excited for August when the boys come home, and Kyle and Kaylie are finally here. We are going to have some good times and probably some good food too! This week I took Austin to the cardiologist again. He had an echocardiogram done because the family doctor thought his heart looked a little on the large side. The cardiologist said it looked perfectly normal and he didn't see any reason for concern. He did want to run a few more tests but didn't expect to find anything there either. So Jason and I decided that it was time to put the "non-breathing" episode behind us. All this is still stemming from all of that. Austin has been fine since February and nothing has been found to be wrong up to this point we really do not foresee that changing so we are going to stop putting him and myself through the worry of it. I have 3 healthy children and I am going to focus on that and move on. Thank you for all your continued prayer and support.

Kurt starts week 4 this week, cant believe he is half way done already. Seems like he just started and yet he is almost done, thankfully! He is a little sore Jenn says, but he is still doing good.

Life in the McCormick house

This has been a fairly easy week because we have had a break from baseball. The schools did their end-of-year testing so therefore they were not allowed to play. We did have practice tonight since testing ended today. Austin goes to the doctor on Tuesday for his Echocardiogram. Last week when I took him to the regualr doctor, I told her about his not breathing episode and she did a chest x-ray to check for pnemonia and saw that his heart looked a little larger than she liked. She said it was still in the normal range, but that she wanted to get the ECHO just to be sure. We have no clue still why he quit breathing that day and we may never know but as long as it doesn't happen again, I won't worry about it. He turned 18 months old the other day and he is already starting down the terrible two's path! He is ornery rotten for sure, but we wouldn't want it any other way. Kenzie and Brice are excited to be done with school and head to Ohio for the summer. As the FRG Leader for Jason's troop I am heavy into planning a welcome home party and trying to get our families as much information as possible so they can plan to welcome their soldiers back home. It is hard to believe(ok not really) that it is just around the corner. We are expecting them all home by the end of August! It's a lot of work to coordinate for so many people but it is very rewarding at the same time. Kurt is doing pretty good, starting to get a little sore, but has three weeks under his belt as of tomorrow so only 4 more to go! I am glad as I am sure his family is too, that he is almost to the down hill of this treatment and he can get healed up and go on with his life.

Life in general just plain bites. The things that get thrown at us sometimes leave us wondering what in the world are we thinking. And how in the world are we supposed to get through all this. We get through with strength through God. Someone said last night, these things keep getting thrown towards you, because God knows how strong you are and he wants to show you exactly how much you can handle. Sometimes God needs to remind us just how strong we really are, at least when he is on our side. So my message today is not for any of you, but for God.

Dear God,
I get the point. I see I am strong. I can muster through anything and I really do get the point. Having said that....enough is enough!
In your precious name I pray!

So it becoming a ritual in our house that at 8:00 p.m. the "something hurts ghost" appears out of nowhere and attacks my kids. It is kinda becoming a joke around here because just when you think they have run out of things to hurt, they think of something else that hurts. The other night we were coming home from Brice's game and it was already past bedtime, so as we are in the car I asked what was hurting from both of them so that we could get that part over with before we got home. Of course Kenzie had something immediately that was hurting...her loose tooth I think....and I double checked to make sure there was nothing on the list and she reassured me that was it.....that is until I put her in bed!!!!!!!! I wanted to scream.....but I just told her that complaint time was over! So my question to all of you reading this.....who wants the ghost, because he has worn out his welcome around here!!!!

Baseball

Brice had another awesome game last night. He hit two doubles and a triple and had another double play. The whole team has improved so much already this year it is amazing! Brice is doing awesome playing shortstop. I cannot wait till Jason and Kyle get here to watch him next year.

I had a PTO meeting tonight and I have finally finished my term. It has been ok, but a little too much at times, so I decided not to run for next years PTO. I will help out when I can but I didn't want a titled position where I couldn't say no if I wanted to. I would like to focus more on the FRG side of my responsibilities. I have such a heart for young military wives and I want to spend more of my energy there.

We are looking forward to the end of the year and beginning our summer. We are planning on going to SC for the annual family reunion weekend and then heading to Ohio to spend several weeks. Then back to NC to welcome our soldier back home!!!! AND....Kyle and Kaylie will be moving here about that same time!!! So much to look forward to, but as always when you are waiting for so much good, the days seem to drag on forever!!

Mother's Day, Baseball and Prayer

I hope all of you had a Happy Mother's Day! I woke up to three kids bringing me breakfast. Special K Bars and milk! haha Then when I opened my door, I found my bedroom door and another door right beside it covered in pictures and notes that my kids had made me. They were so proud they made my wake up special even if daddy wasn't here. I told them the best gift they could give me, was just to be good all day and they did just that. I don't think I raised my voice a single time yesterday and it was marvelous! Kenzie even said to me, I am sorry that we couldn't make you eggs mommy, but you will have to wait till next year when daddy is home to help us. It was priceless and yet kinda sad too! My mother-in-law arranged to send me flowers from my kids and Jason also sent me some. I feel blessed with a wonderful family. Like always I was missing my hubby, but considering the circumstances it was a good day. I even got a nap in!
Brice had a game on Friday and he had a few friends come to watch, which of course he loves! Any opportunity to show off is ok with him! He did just that. He had a wonderful game. 2 Singles a Double and A DOUBLE PLAY! He was so proud of himself....he caught a pop up from the batter and then threw to first to get the runner out that had stepped off the bag! Way to go buddy!
Kurt starts his treatments today and I am sure that they are all anxious and a bit scared to begin their path down the unknown. Please continue to pray for them that the Lord will give them all the strength to get through!

Motivation!?!?

Sometimes I have all the energy in the world! Sometimes I have none! Why is that? I am trying so hard to get myself out of the funk I have been in since Jason left. I want to get back on the band wagon with the dieting thing and I do somedays, but others I just don't care! I have come way to far to let it go now and with swimsuit season fast approaching I need to get with the program! Ok so that is going to happen today! Right after my nap!!!!!

Carrie Underwood concert tonight! Super excited, but I am not sure if I am more excited about seeing her in concert or just the 5 or 6 hours of no children time! I love being a mother but Lord knows it can be trying sometimes, and lately it seems if it is more often than not! Please pray for all of us, that we can get back to a little bit of normalcy soon. We have all struggled to adjust to Jason being gone again. It was so great to have him home and we miss him so much! Only a few more months is what I keep telling myself and then we will have so much fun. Kyle and Kaylie will be here about the same time as Jason gets home and our friend George Turner (who we call our 3rd son) will be back from Iraq too. On a little sadder note, all my friends from church are moving by the end of the year. My best friend Michelle will be leaving me come December or so, and I am super sad about that! I guess those are the things that us military families deal with. We make great friends and they leave or we leave and then we have to make new great friends. It is kinda cool in one way cuz we know people all over the country but some of my best "army" friends I have never gotten to see again. We still talk occasionally but I would love to just see them again and see how their kids have grown! It gives me a little understanding of how hard it has to be on the kids, who make friends at school and then they move away! Stability in the army is just not going to happen! Well I am off for now, but I will return! You can always count on that!

Week by Week

So I got on the scale this morning and I lost 3 of the 5 pounds I gained while Jason was home, so at least I am going in the right direction now. I am sure some of you were wondering if I was still dieting and sticking to it, and the answer is YES! I can't actually believe it either as I have never stuck to a diet plan this long, but this has become more of a lifestyle change for me. Even though I have come a really long way, I am not where I want to be yet, and with every pound lost I feel better and better! Jason coming home and Kyle's wedding were two big motivating factors to loose the weight but even though those are both over, I am still motivated to feel better and better and of course summer is coming! I have lost a total of 45 pounds and would like to loose another 30 if possible. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 12 which I am really excited about! The other thing that has happened is that I have inspired a few others to start the process too. I have a friend whose husband is with Jason and also my cousin Brandi has been doing the journey with me too! We support each other every week and continue to hold each other accountable! My mom has also lost a bunch of weight, not that she had a ton to loose anyway, but she looks and feels great! Her doctors even commented about her weight loss for fear she was getting sick again, but she was very pleased to tell them, it was on purpose this time! Okay, one final note.....PLEASE PRAY FOR MY BROTHER KURT AND HIS FAMILY! LOVE TO THEM!

Another Week

Well it's a start to another week. Last week was a bit rough getting used to Jason being gone again, and Brice trying to figure out that he is not in charge just because Jason isn't here. I am really hoping that we have a better week! At least at the end of the week, I have something to look forward to. Carrie Underwood! Yes two friends and I are going to the Carrie Underwood concert on Friday night! Super excited! Even though we will need binoculars to see anything, it is all good! That is what the big screens are for right?!? For those of you that are not connected to Kurt and Jenn's page, or Kyle and Kaylie's follow my friends to link yourself to them. Wow! It has been forever!

I think things are finally getting back to a little bit of normalcy around here. We had a great visit with Jason while he was home on R&R. Sad to see him leave, but knowing it is very close to being over makes it a little easier. Ok not really, but it does help us get through each day! Brice has started baseball and is doing well. His first game was great. 2 homeruns and a triple. He is playing shortstop and is loving it. The only bad part is the coach named them the Yankees! Oh well, I guess the name doesnt make the team, right?!? Kyle and Kaylie's wedding was a huge success and we had so much fun! We also got news that Kyle got orders to Bragg and we are all super excited about that. The weight loss is going pretty good. I gained 5 pounds while Jason was home but with all that was going on, I wasn't too surprised. Back on the wagon now, so hopefully I can hit my summer time goal by June! Well that is all for now! Hopefully I can get back on here a little more often now!

It's been a while!

Well It has been a while since I have posted so there is a lot to talk about. We enjoyed spending the holidays in Ohio with friends and family. Even with two trips to the Emergency Room with sick kids and the third being sick too, we had a good time. We ate lots of yummy foods and surprisingly I only gained one pound over the two week period. I have since gotten back on the wagon and this week since I have been home, I lost another 6 pounds. So officially today, I have hit the 40 pound weight loss mark. That averages about 10 pounds a month....not bad if i may say so myself. If I can stick with that average I will hit my 60 pound goal by the wedding and the first time Jason sees me when he comes home on R&R. Better yet, I have lost 47" and 29% body fat. I am actually only a few percent away from being in the normal range for my age. I can't believe it! I can't remember the last time I was considered normal. Days like this make this journey much more bearable and just makes me wanna keep pushing forward!

Well, well, well.....Not sure how or why but I lost 7 pounds this week! I had gained two over the Thanksgiving holiday, but I lost that plus 5 more this week. Not sure where that came from, but who am I to question it! 34 pounds! I was hoping to hit 40 by Christmas and at this point it looks like it could actually be possible. I am not sure why it is working this time, after so many tries at losing weight. I think it is just my time. At this rate, I will be "One Hot Momma" by the time my husband comes home! Watch out Kaylie Nichole.....your sister-in-law may steal your show! haha

Christmas is among us! I love the holiday season. It is so festive and everyone seems to be in good spirits. It always is hard when my husband is away, but we will get through remembering and thinking about all our soldiers overseas. We had a great Thanksgiving with everyone here to visit, and we are looking forward to going home in a couple weeks to visit. I am still trucking along with the weight loss journey. I gained a few pounds from all the Thanksgiving festivites but I am back on track this week so hopefully the scale will show next Tuesday. I took Austin for his 1-year pictures this morning and let me just be the first to say....ok not the first....but I must reiterate I HAVE THE CUTEST BABY EVER! Such a ham, and there were so many great pics! I will be posting them on here soon!

Another Week!

Another week and another 2 pounds. That is 29 pounds all together gone from my body forever! I was hoping to hit that 30 pound mark this week, but this is the best week I have had for a while so I will not complain. My family is on their way to N.C. as I type this and I am excited about the week ahead. I wish Jason could be here with us, but he will definatly be present in spirit. Austin turns 1 tomorrow. Wow, I can't believe it has been a year already. It makes me sad to think how fast the time goes when it comes to my kids growing up. Before I know he will be going to kindergarten. I am trying to savor every moment with him because I know he is my last. What a joy he adds to our family. I am blessed with amazing children and it doesn't hurt that they are kinda cute too! haha Their daddy and I are very proud of each one of them and as we head into Thanksgiving, I just want the world to know that I am so thankful for the healthy, beautiful gifts I have been given in my children. I am also very thankful for my husband who is our hero! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Two days in a row! Go Figure! haha I am feeling good after a long workout. This free time is great for the motivation. I feel like I am going to die while working out, but after I feel so accomplished, so I just push through to get to that sensation! Still trying to find something to aid in my weight loss, but for now will continue to push through. I wanted to remind everyone that Jason is celebrating his 30th birthday on December 7th, so please send him a card or message or something. Frustrated!

I am a bit frustrated right now with this weightloss thing I am doing. I had a couple bad weeks losing nothing and then I get back on tract and loose 1 stinking pound! I don't know what is going on, but I want to figure it out. I had set a goal to loose 10 pounds by Thanksgiving and with 9 more to go, I am not sure I am going to make it. Super frustrating! Anyone that has any tips, please feel free to send them my way. I am looking for some supplement that works good, but there are so many conflicting stories with everything that you look up! Again....Frustrating!

Halloween

The kids had a great Halloween this year. We went a little outside the norm and went to a Halloween/Birthday party instead of trick-or-treating. It was great fun and the kids were worn out! Mom was too. That day was also the last game for soccer season, which was a nice relief too! The next couple of weeks should be a little less hectic which is a welcomed break!

Again, it has been so long since I have been on here to update everyone. Well it is another weigh-in day. Rough last couple of weeks and it shows on the scales. Second week with no weight loss, but somehow I did loose 6 " over the last two weeks. Not real sure how that happens, but I will take it. Today my butt gets kicked into gear! No more excuses of visitors, halloween, or being busy. Today was the end of the second month and so far, I have lost a total of 25 pounds and 23.75". Pretty proud of myself for that, but I know it could have been more if the last couple of weeks would have been better. My next goal.....10 pounds before Thanksgiving! Let's see if I can reach it.

Well Tiffany just got on the plane....sad to see her leave, it really was a great weekend. Very busy but fun! But the bad thing is Halloween brings lots of stuff that I am not supposed to eat! Didn't loose any pounds this week but I did loose 3 1/2 inches. Not really sure how that happens, but whatever I will take it!

WOW! So I am so excited! I hit 25 pounds down this week, with another 3 pound weight loss. I also hit my first goal! I am so shocked with this because last week was a really bad excercise/food week! I am getting back on track this week for sure.....what motivation, when your body looses it even when you are not trying to hard! So excited!!!!!! Thanks to all of you for your support! Monday arrives again! Angela and Shannon have made it back to Ohio safely. We had a really good visit, minus Kenzie down with the flu. They got to see Brice play a soccer game, and we carved pumpkins together! Thank goodness, cuz I wouldn't want to tackle 3 of them all alone! What a mess! Tiffany comes this weekend so that should be fun! With a few things planned we are sure to stay busy! Tomorrow is another weigh-in day....not expecting too much loss....hard to be good on a diet when the company is here!

Wow! It has been a while since I have written. I was doing well with this and then I started slacking! haha Well anyway, another 2 pounds and 2" this week. That means I hit the 20 pound mark! woot woot!!! I am loving this pride I am ccarrying for myself. Ok so I have to "take care of some business"

A few of you have asked about the soldiers that we all heard about on the news that were killed in Afghanistan. Here is the deal.....

The way it should work is like this......the accident happens....the immediate family is notified, the chain of command notifies the FRG (family readiness groups) that are involved and then they put out the information through a process called "redline messages" Once all the FRG leaders have all checked in to say that all contacts have been made. After this and only after this, the department of defense will release an official script to the media.

Now this is how it is suppose to work, that is not to say that there are never any mistakes but for the most part we like to try to rely on the system. This is important to know, for one reason......If you hear it on the news first, then Jason and Kyle are fine. It just cuts down on a lot of worry when you understand the process. As I am sure you understand, it is scary for all of us, but the only way I can make it through everyday is to not stress about every death that is broadcast on the news. I feel for all these families, believe me I do, but I can't sit around and worry about it everyday. All I can do is PRAY!!! And that is all I ask of you too! Thank you to all of you for such tremendous support, we truely do appreciate it!

So yeah, I can say for sure that I am very proud of myself. It has been a really long time since I can say I am super proud of myself and the willpower I have displayed. So here is the scoop......September brought a weight loss of 18 pounds!!!!!!! and 11 inches down!!!!! Hoping October will bring just as good of results. Thank you for all your support and kind words, please keep praying for me, as this is something I want desperatly to continue!

Something else that I wanted to share with everyone is the following.....
Okay so here is the scoop. I was looking for a work at home job online and my mom suggested medical transcription. But the thing with that is, you have to be certified these days in order to do it, so I started looking around online and found this careerstep.com Well I saw on there that it was a $1600 course so I just closed it and forgot about it. Well they called my house a few days later and the lady was telling me about it, and I said that all sounds great but how much is it. So she quoted me the same price and there was even a platinum package for $1800. So I asked her if there was any military discount (can't ever forget to ask that anywhere!) and she said as a matter of fact there is, I am just not sure what. So she transferred me to Matt, the financial guy. I talked to him for like 5 minutes and he explained to me that the president has put some sort of grant out there that gives $6000 to military spouses to go back to school. Anyway, after seriously about 5 minutes I was approved. It was the quickest easiest thing I have ever done and 2 days later I started on the training. It is all online, they say it will take about 4-6 months to get it done, but you have a year. Just depends on how quickly you work through it. So to get to the point, this company offers transcription and medical coding and billing. With this grant, you can actually afford to do both for nothing! They help you with your resume, they give you job leads and all sorts of stuff once you finish the training. The best part is, if you share this opportunity with anyone and they sign up, you get paid too! Cash in your pocket. You don't have to, but you can. Last month is was $200 per person, I think it is $50 this month. So I know for me I have looked for ever to try and find a legit work from home job, and when I found this and found out it was free, I was all about sharing it with everyone I know! Make money or not, it is a great opportunity! So if all this sounds good to you and something you are interested in, just let me know and I will give you the name and number of the counselor and you can get started!

If you are not part of the military don't fret.....They will still talk to you and figure out a way to set up payments or something. Just let me know and I will give you the number to call and figure out what ways you can get started. Definatly worth the call!

It has been another long weekend, but back to the grind again tomorrow! Brice played soccer in the rain 0-0 tie. He has been playing goalie and loving it. His dad informed him tonight that he need to continue in that position because that would make him better once he started playing football! Guess that is the only way he will ever be a buckeye right?!?! Course MLB might be right up there with that, so I guess only time will tell. haha Kenzie had yet another very busy weekend with hula. A parade and a performance. Can't get much crazier, can it? Austin, well he just goes with the flow! We are getting close to the end of the first month of the diet, very anxious to see what the totals for the month are! We will know on Tuesday!

It's Friday!

Good morning all. It is going to be another long weekend for us. Started yesterday with Kenzie getting 5 shots! We were at the doctors office for 2 1/2 hours for Brice and Kenzie to each get a physical and Kenzie to get her shots. What a nightmare! They were so far behind we didn't get seen until almost 1 hours and 45 minutes after our appointment! So far this morning, Kenzie has thrown up and had to be picked up at school. Hopefully this is just from all the shots and she will be ok later on. She is going to be in a parade tomorrow downtown for the International Folk Festival with her Hula class. Can't wait to post pictures of that! Brice has another soccer game, and Kenzie is performing again on Sunday! When will it end? Not sure it ever will! It is very busy, but it makes time go by very quickly so that is nice! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Week three another success

Today it has been 1 month since Jason left! 11 more to go! Kids are doing well and mom hasn't made it to the loney bin yet! Doing good!

Well week three was rough and so busy there wasn't much time to exercise. Somehow I managed to loose three more pounds and I am not sure how! I am back on the wagon this week with the exercise and hoping to pull big numbers so I guess all we can do is wait and see.

On another note, some of you have really been following my blog closely and I have heard some concerns about why I haven't been posting. There are a couple of reasons....the biggest one being that this past week has been so incredibly busy that I have barely had time to breath, let alone blog. I will try to get with the program and keep posting! Also, I am putting in another request for you to please register as a follower!! Happy Hump Day All!

Another long weekend over! Kaylie was here to visit and help out and not sure how I would have survived without her! Austin and I are dealing with a little cold, so that isn't much fun! He is eating more and more "big people" food. Toast this morning! He is growing up too fast, but he is so much fun! Luckily I have one of the best babies ever! Poor kid gets carted everywhere and strapped in and out of carseats, strollers, highchairs, etc. And he just goes with the flow. Today is the last day of week 3, not a great week for excercising. So incredibly busy, but back on that bandwagon this week! Hoping for good results tomorrow on weigh in day!

Another weekend sure to be a crazy one! With hula several times, soccer games beginning, meetings and the fair, it is sure to be one hectic weekend. I will be glad when things calm down a bit, but I sure don't see that happening anytime soon. At least it helps to make the time go by much faster. Jason is doing well, still sitting in an area of Afghanistan where he doesn't have anything to do, besides play cards, work out and hang out watching movies. I know most of you are thinking WHAT! But hey, they way I look at it is, let him hang out there for as long as he can, no worrying about him, and we still get to count down the time and reap the benefits of the pay. Seems like a no-loose situation to me! At least for now! He is however, requesting mail! Them boys sure do love their mail while they are gone. Hello to all of you that have been keeping up on our blog! It has been a few days since I have posted anything do to life just being crazy! I weighed in again yesterday. 2 pounds and 3 more inches down! YAY ME! Wasn't as great as last week, but hey at least I am going in the right direction. I am not disappointed as I know, (from the biggest loser) that there is the week 2 curse!

Good morning everyone! I had a request to put some things on here for suggestions for things you can put in care packages for the boys. They love snacks, anything non-perishable, cards, letters, baby wipes, toiletries such as deodarant, toothpaste, soap, anything like that. And don't worry about what brand you are getting as they all share. If Jason receives something he doesn't use, he will pass it on to another soldier who might. It is like a community event when they receive packages! haha In a couple of months we will be able to figure out how long it takes for them to receive their packages and we will know more if we can send cookies or fresh baked stuff. THEY LOVE THAT STUFF! Even if it is crumbled into a million pieces! As for Kyle, he has been receiving boxes in about 5 days so we have been able to send him things like that. Just put it in a ziplock bag, add a piece of bread, and seal it real good. Another good thing that they like to receive is bags of "penny" candy. They use it to pass out to the children, and sometimes it even helps them find information that they are looking for. I have heard from the guys several times, that those children are always saying......"Mr. Mr. num num" or they use some sort of sign asking for the candy. I hope this list helps you, if you have any specific questions please feel free to ask. Probably just something I should have mentioned and forgot! Oh yeah, also the best and cheapest way to send packages.......go to post office and get some flat rate boxes(they are free)....there are 3 sizes I think......get some custom forms while you are there.....fill out the form, pack the box with whatever you bought and you only pay one price no matter how heavy it is. There can be one item or 50 and it is the same price. Be veg when filling out the custom forms...."good" stuff tends to come up missing! Hope this helps everyone!

Why is it boys are so stubborn? Someone please give me hope that this is just a stage! Whoever knew that my sweet little boy would turn into such a monster! He hates school, he hates homework, he hates everything! Plus he told me the other day that he is better than everyone! Please someone tell me this is just a stage that they grow out of really really quickly! My patience is running very thin and I know that isn't a good attitude to have, but golly gee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning Tuesday! Good morning Week 2! Feeling good this morning, especially after I got on the scale and weighed 10 pounds lighter than last Monday! woot woot! I hope it keeps going like that! Super proud of myself and anxious to keep trucking along! Off to what appears to be another gloomy rainy day, but the Lord is good and is giving me the strength to continue on this difficult journey. Monday, Labor Day, and the beginning of week 2! Week one was good. Let's hope week two is just as successful. We will see tomorrow when I weigh in just how successful week 1 was. I am praying for even just a few pounds lost so that I continue to be motivated and press on. I hope Labor Day is an eventful funfilled day for all of you! We had our "celebration" on Saturday so just chilling out at home today. The kids are enjoying an extra day off, but mommy is looking forward to the "big yellow machine" coming tomorrow! Yesterday was one of those days! Everything that happened was just frustrating. First I had a board meeting for the PTO which turned into an arguement between two people.....completely unrelated to the subject at hand.....then if any of you are friends on facebook you will know that there was a pretty heated conversation going on about Obama coming into the schools via the web, which just downright annoys me, then there was the whole water issue. My shower was leaking and after two hours of trying to figure out how to turn the water off, we finally called the water company and they basically did a driveby turn off. So I get the whole thing torn apart and can't find anything, so I turned the water back on to see where the leak was coming from exactly, and as magical as a bunny coming out of a magician's hat, there is no leak.......none, zilch, nada! What the heck!!! No clue how I fixed it, but gosh darn it.....I DID! It may have taken several choice words and a majorly frustrating few hours, but I did it! Diet is going well can't wait to see my first weeks results on Monday. Hopefully it is encouraging! Hoping to have a more relaxing day today...hanging out with some good friends for a Labor Day cookout and swim!

Day 4 About to Begin!

Today is Day 4 of my diet and so far things have gone really well. I am hoping they continue this way. I have so much support that I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am to all of them. For all of you that have left supportive comments, I really appreciate them! The kids are starting to adjust well to school and Jason is doing well. I am being able to talk to him nearly everyday right now cuz he isn't really doing much yet and they haven't made it to there final destination. The way I look at that is, at least so far we have had almost two weeks of knowing he is safe. I hope they are stuck there for another 6 months or so. I know highly doubtful but sometimes it is good to think positive! Well have a good day everyone!

Another day another dollar! Yeah if only that were true! Yesterday the diet went well, very well actually. I had so much energy, from my supplements that I walked not once but twice and played basketball for an hour with my kids. At that pace, I should reach my goal by next month! haha Lessoned learned....don't take those after lunch! Another busy day here in the McCormick household. First, I have to go to the school for several hours and play PTO secretarty. Our fundraiser starts today, so don't be surprised if you get a call from one of my kids begging you to buy something! haha Brice's goal...top seller in the school...prize $100 cash! Really he and Kenzie both would just like to meet the 20 items sold goal so they can go on a Limo ride to Cici's. Brice has gotten to do that the last two years and he loves it. Anyway, then we have hula and parents have a meeting. Oh and of course, there is housework, homework, baths, dinner, and the ever so glorious.....BED! Hope all is well with all of you!

Day 1 went well....Today I get a dieting partner and I am super excited about that. We are going to support each other and keep one another motivated. Heard from Jason last night and he is doing great. Sounded really good and says the leg is doing fine. Thank you Jesus! He is working on getting it stronger everyday, so I pray he has a little more time to do that before he moves into doing missions. Kyle is doing good too. I get to talk to him a little more frequently because he is online. The technology in Iraq is much better than in Afghanistan, but Jason was able to purchase a cell phone. Well today is early, so I am going to get my walking shoes on and then head to the grocery store! Plans are: to have another good day.

Monday Monday Monday! What else can you say. Today is the day that I start my journey down this "weightloss road" I am determined and have made my mind up that I am going to do it. The kids had a blast at our potluck over the weekend. Brice starts soccer, the first full week of school, and busy busy busy. Jason is doing well, heard from him again this morning and he even bought a cell phone, so if we can figure out how to make it work, we can call him too. Time warner has a great package that offers 1000 minutes for just $19.95 a month. Pretty cheap when you divide it out. Well not much else going on so I am going to finish up here! One week down with school and a ton more to go. The kids really like their teachers and I really like the school bus! haha Sometimes it is such a relief to the ears when that big yellow machine goes driving past with my children on it! Talked with Jason yesterday and he is doing well. The leg is holding up good and he has come off the blood thinners. He did say that we could begin sending him mail at anytime using the address that I posted yesterday. Things are going to start getting very busy for me, between meetings at school and meetings for the FRG and soccer which starts on Monday and hula continuing to do more and more shows. Austin finally got his fourth tooth and working on another. He is going to be walking soon. He is only 9 months old and he is pulling up on everything and will take a few steps holding your hands. He is still a bit wobbly but I am sure it will not take long before he is cruising around here getting into even more things that he already does! Well, I am about to start another day of craziness, with dance class and a potluck for the FRG. It will be nice to see how everyone is doing since their husbands have left. Please pray for all of us as we continue to push through one day at a time. Whether it is our first deployment or fourth, we struggle everyday with missing and worrying about our spouses.

It is Friday of the first week of school and so far the kids are loving it. They both love their teachers and Kenzie was so excited to go to school this morning she was dancing around. I hope she stays like that for the next 12 years! Somehow I doubt it. Didn't hear from Jason yesterday so hopefully I will today. We are missing him like crazy, but can't believe it has been almost a week already. I hope it continues to go this fast!

Today is the day that I start this new journey on my own. The company has left, the extra hands are gone and it is left to me to manage and hold down the fort. One day at a time, one job at a time and one prayer right after another will get me through. "I can do this!" I heard from Jason last night and he is doing well. His leg did well on the flight and he has come off the blood thinners. Hopefully that turns out ok. Right now that is our biggest worry. He is working hard to continue to strengthen it and let's just hope he has enough time to do that before he needs it to be at 100%. Christa had "the talk" with me last night, giving me all the pointers I need to make a change and help me start down the weightloss journey. As for now, it is time to get motivated and get right back in bed! haha

We are about to start our 4th deployment and it is going to be rough like always. In order to keep sane, I am going to start doing this blog and keeping everyone updated through this. Jason will have access to update when he can and I will do the same. I am also going to be blogging my way through a major weight loss program.
